Step 1 - I gather all the necessary equipment

Transforming your shower into a cabin worthy of a spa does not require a lot of equipment, but the choice of the latter is quite important. It is obviously necessary to equip yourself with a shower head after having selected it according to precise criteria like the different types of jets. The most classic is the rain jet but you can also opt for a massage or mist spray.

A multijet shower head is guaranteed to satisfy the expectations of the whole family. It allows you to choose the power of the jet, according to your desires, and very easily.

Some shower heads also have other features and functions that may meet your needs:

  • anti-limescale: nozzles or silicone diffusers prevent lime scale from attaching to the shower head
  • enlightened: Thanks to LEDs, you can enjoy the benefits of chromotherapy
  • connected: With your smartphone, you can thus monitor your consumption of water shower after shower.

For the installation, you will also need a flexible hose (beware of the length!), A pliers or an adjustable wrench. And that's all !

Step 2 - I unscrew the old hose

No need for this little intervention to cut off the water supply; we start directly with unscrew the hose at the tap. There are two options for doing this: the adjustable wrench if you have one in your toolbox, or a more common pliers. The latter is especially more practical because with its claws, it loosens the hose without damaging it. Finish by unscrewing by hand, always clockwise.

Do not hesitate to replace the hose if it is too old. It could cause leaks or greater damage if it is too damaged.

Step 3 - I collect the seal

We take advantage of this step to check the condition of the seal at the end of the hose and change it if necessary. You can remove the seal using a flat screwdriver or simply by hand.

Good to know: when the seal is black, it is made of rubber! It is this type of seal that is suitable for sealing your shower.

Step 4 - I prepare the pommel

We screw the hose at the end of the shower head. To prevent leakage, add a rubber or silicone seal.

Step 5 - I screw the pommel

Once the seal is installed, you can screw without fearthe shower head. Start by screwing it by hand. Then use a pliers or an adjustable wrench to continue to screw. It is important to screw without forcing, so as not to damage the equipment of your shower.

Step 6 - I screw the hose to the tap

The installation of your shower head is almost complete. After screwing the shower head onto the hose, remember to connect the hose to the shower tap. To be sure that the hose does not let go, we tighten it one last time but without forcing so as not to scratch the fittings.

Step 7 - I control the installation

To avoid unpleasant surprises, the water jet is activated immediately after installation. Everything is fine ? Well done, the shower is like new! The moments of relaxation in your bathroom are yours.

If you find a leak at the faucet or shower head, don't panic. The seal may not have been put on properly, or it may have been forgotten. It only takes a few minutes to correct the problem and repair the leak, before you can fully enjoy the benefits of your shower.
